Effective December
14, 2025, unless otherwise noted, allowances and post differential rates are
revised as shown. These changes are issued under TL:SR 1140.
Please inform local
offices of all U.S. government agencies at the posts listed in this cable.
Important: Read this
entire message, as posts may be listed more than once. Changes are listed by
allowances type.
Taiwan has been
included, when applicable, under arrangement with the American Institute in
Taiwan.
Effective December
14, 2025, the Administrative Post (Hardship) Differential increase of 5 percent
for Mission Bolivia (La Paz and Other) is terminated. Previously read,
"Effective June 29, 2025, Assistant Secretary Cunningham (M) reauthorized
the Administrative Post (Hardship) Differential increase of 5 percent for
Mission Bolivia (La Paz and Other) for not more than six (6) months. This
administrative increase will terminate on December 28, 2025, or the date the
Office of Allowances completes its analysis of U.S. Embassy La Paz's full Post
(Hardship) Differential survey and publishes its rate, whichever occurs
first."
The Post (Hardship)
Differential rate for Bolivia is now based on the Post (Hardship) Differential
survey submitted by U.S. Embassy La Paz and remains at 20%. Note the rate is
not reflected below in the rates section as this is a zero change.
All Living Quarters
Allowance (LQA) changes are based on currency exchange rate information
reported to the Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 25
(December 4, 2025).
All Post Allowance
(COLA) changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the
Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 25 (December 4,
2025).
The publishing of
2025-2026 "At Post" Education Allowance rates has resumed. Until the
new education allowance rates are published for a specific post, the rates for
the previous school year will remain in effect. These rates should be sufficient
to cover the costs for the first semester of the new school year if it is
necessary to process payments before the new rates are published.
As a reminder to all
Agencies, if there is a change, increase or decrease, to the At Post and/or
Away-from-Post Education Allowance rates during the current school year, per
DSSR 274.23, the highest published education allowance rate within the school
year will be effective for the entire school year.
